What it is

WGU Atlas is a catalog research tool for Western Governors University degrees and courses. A reader can browse a degree, open a course, compare programs, and explore catalog history using public WGU catalog sources.

How it works

Catalog editions and program guides use different structures, dates, and identifiers. Atlas keeps source dates attached to its information so a reader can investigate a change instead of assuming every catalog fact is current.

It separates a detected catalog change, an admitted catalog dataset, and the version used by the published site. Detecting a change is not the same as accepting it into the dataset or publishing it.

Evidence and limits

The public site is a dated catalog reference. Historical observations do not establish a student’s enrollment-specific requirements. Certification relationships can be incomplete, and certificate-course codes are not a count of industry certifications.

The catalog interface and its transformations are deterministic. A separate Q&A experiment is not part of the catalog reference and is labeled experimental.

Roadmap

Refresh catalog evidence through the established review path, then publish only after human approval.

Changelog

  • March 2026: Current public catalog reference.
  • September 2026: Newer catalog candidate prepared for review.
